(This section contains answers to questions that many of our customers may have.  Please feel free to stop back and check this document.  We will continue to add information as more questions arise.)

Who is Minnesota National Bank? 

-          Minnesota National Bank is being formed by merging First National Bank of Sauk Centre and Lake Country State Bank.

 

When will the merger between First National Bank of Sauk Centre and Lake Country State Bank be completed?

-          The merger will be completed on March 22, 2008 and the banks will operate as Minnesota National Bank beginning March 24, 2008.

 

What office will be considered the headquarters?

-          The Sauk Centre office will be considered the headquarters for Minnesota National Bank.

 

How did the banks become affiliated?

-          The parent company of First National Bank of Sauk Centre purchased Lake County State Bank in September 2007.  Since that time, it has been our intention to consolidate the two banks into one merged bank.

 

Where will Minnesota National Bank’s offices be located?

-          Minnesota National Bank will have offices in the same places you are familiar with already.

o   Sauk Centre – downtown

o   Sauk Centre – branch in Coborn’s

o   Long Prairie

o   Pelican Rapids

-          You can stop at any of the 4 locations to bank with us after the merger date!

 

Will the same employees be available?

-          Yes, the employees that you’ve come to know with First National Bank and Lake Country State Bank will continue with Minnesota National Bank.  Nearly all of the employees will continue to work in their same position.

 

How will I communicate with bank employees?

-          All locations and phone numbers will remain the same.  You can continue to contact employees by phone, email and fax as you have in the past.  Email addresses will change in time and employees will communicate those changes with you, but you can continue to use any existing email address for now.

 

Will my checks continue to be accepted?

-          Yes, your existing check blanks will be accepted for one full year after the merger date.  We encourage all our customers to stop in the bank after the merger date  to reorder checks so your new check blanks will have Minnesota National Bank branded on them.

 

What will happen to any automatic payments I have set up from my accounts?

-          All automatic transactions from your existing accounts will continue to be completed without interruption.  Also, there is nothing you need to do in order for them to continue.  If you have automatic transactions occurring through your debit card, please see the debit card section.

 

Can I change my checking account plan?

-          Yes, please feel free to stop and see a Personal Banker at any of our locations after the merger date if you would like to review all of our checking plan options. 

 

When will I get my account statements?

-          For First National Bank customers – you will continue to receive statements on the same date as you’re accustomed.

-          For Lake Country State Bank customers – you may notice account statements arriving on different dates than you’re accustomed.

 

What happens to our existing account information?

-          Your existing account information will continue to be available to you.  If you need to research information from the past, we will have this information also.  Your information will remain safe and strictly confidential.  Please stop in or call if you need past records.

 

What will be the new bank website?

-          The existing websites will be functional until the merger takes place and the bank will have a new website for Minnesota National Bank when the merger occurs.  The new website address will be available in the near future.

 

Will Internet Banking continue to be available?

-          Yes, internet banking is a vital tool for bank customers and will continue.  If you were a customer with First National Bank, there will not be any changes to your internet banking.

-          For Lake Country State Bank customers, there may be changes to your User ID and Password for internet banking.  No images or prior history will be available.   We will be informing you of these changes prior to the merger.  Please check this section as more information becomes available.

 

Will Telephone Banking be available?

-          For Lake Country State Bank customers, telephone banking will continue as it has in the past.  You can continue to use the same phone numbers to dial into telephone banking as in the past.

-          For First National Bank customers, this will be a new service for you and information regarding this service will be made available in March 2008.  This is a free, secure service that will require you to sign up for this service.

 

Will my ATM/Debit card continue to work?

-          For Lake Country State Bank customers, there will be no changes to your ATM or Debit cards.

-          For First National Bank customers, you will be issued new cards in March 2008.  New cards will be issued via mail and new PIN’s will be assigned to your new card.  You will receive these in separate mailings for security purposes.  If you desire, you can call FNB (Personal Banker)at 320-352-5211 to receive a reference number which you will need when you call Shazam’s 800 number to change your PIN. Changing your PIN is not required, but you may desire to do this.  Another change will be the ATM network.  The Shazam Network will be the new network.

 

If I have a loan or CD with First National Bank or Lake Country State Bank, will anything change?

-          No, all terms and interest rates will remain the same as stated in the original contract. 


Will I need a new coupon book for my loan?

-          No, your existing coupon books will continue to be valid for your loans.  Please continue to use them even though they have First National Bank or Lake Country State Bank’s name included.

 

Will Bounce Privilege replace my Ready Reserve?

-          Bounce Privilege will not replace Ready Reserve.  If you should overdraw your account, Ready Reserve (or Check Credit) will be utilized first and Bounce Privilege will be used after your Ready Reserve (or Check Credit) has been fully used.
