Health Savings Account
A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a bank account, much like a checking account that is established exclusively to help you pay for qualifying medical expenses for you, your spouse and your dependents tax-free. Those expenses may include those not covered by your medical plan such as vision, dental and over the counter medications (if prescribed by a physician).
Contributions can be made by you, your employer, or both. Contributions can also be made by someone on your behalf. Funds can be spent each year or carried over for future medical expenses. You will never lose the funds! An HSA must be accompanied by a qualifying health insurance plan. A $2 monthly service charge may apply.
