Meet Mary Borgerding – Senior Teller

Mary Borgerding's children Brandon, Jarrett and TaylorSauk Centre Senior Teller Mary Borgerding believes the most important part of helping customers is to be friendly, efficient and caring. Working her whole career at Minnesota National Bank has allowed Mary the opportunity to really get to know customers. She is always quick to offer a smile to everyone, and loves hearing customer’s stories while assisting them. Mary also enjoys her co-workers at Minnesota National Bank, because they enjoy their jobs.

Mary BorgerdingMary is also the treasurer for the St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation. She enjoys serving this organization, which works to raise money for improvements to the local hospital and to keep costs low.

In her free time, Mary enjoys cheering on the Mainstreeters at local sporting events, playing volleyball, spending time at the lake, walking and spending time with family and friends (her children Brandon, Jarrett and Taylor shown above).

Meet Amanda Clasemann – Loan Support and Teller

Amanda Clasemann Minnesota National BankSince starting at the bank in May, Long Prairie Loan Support and Teller Amanda Clasemann has enjoyed getting to know the customers and staff at Minnesota National Bank. She has also enjoyed learning all the skills for her position here at the bank.

Amanda knows a lot about customer service from working as a receptionist at a clinic for 13 years. She believes it is important to help customers in whatever way she can, and to make every experience at the bank a positive one. Working in a small-town community bank presents a family-like atmosphere, which Amanda appreciates.

Amanda believes in the importance of “paying it forward” when she is able. She helps out with fundraisers at St. Agnes School in Osakis and also plays guitar and sings with the choir. Amanda stays very busy in her free time, between following her daughter in her various sporting events to golfing, biking, playing volleyball, and going camping.

A fun fact about Amanda is she was a Todd County Dairy Princess in 1998 and 1999. She remembers serving milk at the bank for customer appreciation events back then, and says, “I never thought I would be working here one day!”

Meet Kathy Koetter – Loan Support/Teller

Kathy_Koetter-photo_2Kathy Koetter has been working at Minnesota National Bank for just over six months, but in that time has enjoyed getting to know Minnesota National Bank customers by name. She is a friendly face that we enjoy having at Minnesota National Bank. Kathy is always willing to lend a hand and go above and beyond what a customer expects. She appreciates that Minnesota National Bank offers customers a friendly voice on the other end of the phone line.

Kathy previously worked with her husband full time at the grocery store they own, Paul & Kathy’s Supermarket. She is also very involved in the community; she does everything from volunteering with the Upsala Ballpark Association (UBA) to teaching religious education classes.

In her free time Kathy likes to crochet, read, camp, fish, hunt and spend time with her family. She also stays busy running her four children to and from activities.

A fun fact about Kathy is she was crowned the Brandon Summerfest Queen in 1993! We have royalty among us :)!

Meet Shelley Gummeringer – Vice President

Shelley Gummeringer and Family Minnesota National Bank Pelican RapidsPelican Rapids Assistant Vice President Shelley Gummeringer enjoys the personal interaction with customers as she works with consumer and real estate lending. Her favorite part of this personal interaction is hearing customer’s stories and using those stories to find financial products that fit their needs. She believes in the importance of building long lasting relationships with customers through providing accurate and prompt service, no matter what the situation. She believes all of this is achievable by working at Minnesota National Bank, where she enjoys the opportunity to give back to Pelican Rapids and area communities.

Shelley is involved in the Otter Tail United Way Board of Directors and the Pelican Rapids Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She enjoys working with both of these organizations to better the lives of her neighbors and help strengthen the community.

In her free time, Shelley enjoys doing home and yard projects. She also keeps busy enjoying her daughter’s activities and spending time with family and friends. A little known fact about Shelley is she plays the drums and is currently teaching herself guitar.

You may see Anna in her office as a personal banker or working as a teller. In both positions she enjoys the opportunity to get to know customers. She says each customer is not just another face or account number, they are her family and friends. This is something she appreciates about working in a small town.

Anna started her banking career working as a teller in high school and college. After college she worked for three years at an animal hospital as a client care representative. She moved back to the area to be closer to family and started working at two other area banks, before starting at Minnesota National Bank.

A little known fact about Anna is she is very involved in the arts. She has worked since college with the Prairie Renaissance Cultural Alliance, which helps support the arts in Stevens County and the surrounding area. She works to help everyone realize they can be artistic. Anna also has a hidden talent of painting and drawing.

She always strives to provide the best value for Minnesota National Bank customers, in keeping with the core values of the bank.

Working at the bank since 1979 Linda has enjoyed the many relationships she has made with bank customers and her fellow coworkers.

In her free time, Linda enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling. She also enjoys reading and listening to audio books. She listens to approximately 100 audio books a year.

A fun fact about Linda is this summer she beat her husband in a friendly golf match for the first time by parring two holes.

Meet Jessica Repp – Personal Banker/Sr. Teller

Jessica Repp Minnesota National BankLong Prairie Personal Banker/Senior Teller Jessica Repp’s favorite part of her job is interacting with customers. She has worked at the bank for three years and believes in the value of working for a small town, community centered bank. This is also an important value of Minnesota National Bank. Jessica is known for providing quality service “with a smile” and helping each customer based on their individual needs. She says each customer at Minnesota National Bank is important, and no one is ever considered “just a number.” Prior to working at Minnesota National Bank, Jessica worked at the First State Bank of Swanville.

Jessica stays busy spending time with her children Gavin and Grace. She also loves spending time outside whether it’s camping, riding four-wheeler or just hanging out by a campfire.

Meet Nicki Stetz – Personal Banker

Nicki Stetz Minnesota National Bank in Pelican Rapids, MNPelican Rapids Personal Banker Nicki Stetz believes the smallest act can be the most important to someone. Her customer service philosophy is to go above and beyond on a daily basis. This is a quality she encourages in her co-workers. Living and working in a small town Nicki values the importance that Minnesota National Bank places on supporting local community organizations. Nicki previously worked at the Barnesville Chamber of Commerce and was very involved with the Lions Club and PTA. She also served as a volunteer EMT. Nicki has always been a small town girl. She grew up in Hawley and moved to Barnesville after getting married.

Nicki also goes above and beyond in her “free time.” Really her “free time” is filled with work. Her and her husband own and operate Heart O’ Lakes Meats in Pelican Rapids. They do custom animal processing and have a retail counter. She helps with bookkeeping and other odds and ends at the business. If that doesn’t keep her busy enough she also keeps the schedules of her three children in order and tries to attend as many of their dance performances and basketball games as possible.

A “fun fact” about Nicki is she is a former member of the women’s barbershop organization called “Sweet Adelines.” She was a part of the international club for over 12 years. She formally sang with a chorus in the Fargo/Moorhead area. Singing is one of her passions.

Meet Ryan Jacobson – Loan Officer

Ryan Jacobson loan officer and his fishAs a new employee of Minnesota National Bank Loan Officer Ryan Jacobson has experienced first-hand the welcoming atmosphere of the bank. Since starting at the end of May, he has enjoyed getting to know both Minnesota National Bank customers and employees. He admits the bank already has a very “homey” feel. Ryan is excited to continue to learn more about the bank and his new position as a loan officer.

Ryan grew up in Fergus Falls and recently moved to Long Prairie. He appreciates living in a small town because of the opportunity to get to know customers and enhance customer service.
Ryan recently joined a softball league in Long Prairie. He has a passion for spending time outdoors. He loves fishing, golfing and spending time with his family and friends. An interesting fact about Ryan is he has a Wisconsin Packer dedication and even holds stock in the team.

Meet Rick Jennissen – Vice-President

He feels they are his number one priority and works to always be respectful and courteous in every interaction. Rick feels it is important to be empathetic in order to see questions and concerns from each customer’s point of view.

Rick grew up in Sauk Centre and graduated from Sauk Centre High School. He is a St. John’s University graduate and has worked for 25 years in the banking industry, with 20 of those years focusing on investments. Growing up and living in Sauk Centre, Rick is very active in the community and appreciates the opportunity to reflect important values of Minnesota National Bank: hard work and fairness. Rick works with the Sauk Centre Lions Club, Big Sauk Lake Association, Sauk Centre Combined Fund Drive and sings with the choir at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church. 

rick j family pic 2In the free time he has left, Rick enjoys spending time with his wife, Laurie, and three daughters, Greta, Jamie and Maria. Both he and Laurie have parents nearby, and they also enjoy spending time with them. Rick also plays on a Sunday night Recreational Basketball League. 

In Rick’s college years he sang with a men’s a cappella group. His group won the homecoming talent show in his senior year and was also able to travel to Germany, Austria, Colorado and California through the college choir program.

Meet Matt Hoeschen – Lender

Matt Hoeschen Loan Officer at Minnesota National Bank

Sauk Centre Consumer Lender Matt Hoeschen knows how important it is to be a “stand out” bank in regard to customer service. He believes the most important aspect of customer service is making every interaction enjoyable and informative. Every customer should leave with all the information they need. Matt started working at the bank in October of 2012. He majored in Business Administration at Moorhead State University and since graduation has taken numerous lending classes with experienced lenders at Minnesota National Bank. 

Matt is a Sauk Centre native and since starting at the bank he has enjoyed the daily interaction with his fellow co-workers and customers. He enjoys working in a community where he knows so many people and has made life-long relationships. Matt also appreciates the teamwork his fellow employees demonstrate on a daily basis.

In his free time Matt loves to do anything competitive, especially golf and bowling. He is also an avid sports fan. His favorite teams are the “Minnesota teams”: Vikings, Wild, Twins, Gophers and Timberwolves.

Meet Connie Wifall – Senior Teller

Connie Wifall Family Pelican Rapids Minnesota National Bank Senior TellerPelican Rapids Senior Teller Connie Wifall believes in three important values of customer service: being helpful, informative and friendly. She wants every customer at Minnesota National Bank to know that she is always there to help from the minute they walk in the bank. She enjoys working in a small town bank, because she is able to get to know customers and their families by name.

Prior to starting at Minnesota National Bank in November of 2009 Connie worked at a hardware store and gas station, doing everything from payroll to ordering.

Connie recently became involved in a group at church titled “Awana.” This is a children’s group that she has been active in planning and getting started. She has enjoyed seeing the children’s excitement with the program.

When she’s away from the bank, Connie enjoys going for walks, camping, reading and working in her flower beds.

Kelly Peterson Minnesota National BankSauk Centre Lender Kelly Peterson worked as a student teller in high school and college. She is glad to return to the community she grew up in to work as a lender.

Working in a small town community bank, Kelly enjoys the opportunity to get to know customers by name. She works to provide a comfortable environment for Minnesota National Bank customers. She says the biggest value of a community bank is the trust customers can put in the staff.

Kelly was very involved in Collegiate DECA when she attended Alexandria Community and Technical College. She enjoyed the leadership and business ethics skills she gained through the organization. In her free time she loves to shop, travel, ice skate, read and spend time with her nephew.

In her 41 years at Minnesota National Bank, Jonie has also worked in the teller line, customer service department, and loans. She places value on Minnesota National Bank’s employee’s knowledge of customers and their needs. She says the same faces you see at the bank are in local churches, community groups and schools blending with customers.

Jonie delivers Meals on Wheels once a month. She enjoys this opportunity to brighten someone’s day with a warm, nutritious meal. In her free time she enjoys farming with her dad, fishing, reading, and building birdhouses and benches.

Meet Joyce Brinkman – Personal Banker

Joyce Brinkman Personal Banker at Minnesota National BankSauk Centre Personal Banker Joyce Brinkman celebrated her 30th year at Minnesota National Bank in July and says there is nothing like getting to know customers while working for a small town community bank. Minnesota National Bank is the only place Joyce has ever worked. She started in high school as a student teller.

Working as a personal banker Joyce says her number one priority is the customer. From the simplest to the most complex tasks she strives to have the answers. She also enjoys being able to identify the products and services each customer needs to get the most out of banking with Minnesota National Bank.

Joyce is a member of the St. Joseph Church choir in Grey Eagle and helps out with other church activities. She also is on a bowling team and loves spending time with her friends and family. When it’s summer Joyce can be seen walking, biking, boating or camping!

Mary has worked at Minnesota National Bank for 29 years. Her philosophy of customer service is to always listen to be able to address a customer’s needs and concerns. She enjoys the opportunity to also assist coworkers with questions they might have.

In her free time, Mary enjoys spending time with her family and loves a good movie or book! A fun fact about Mary is when she was young her sister brought her to a movie at the Sauk Centre movie theatre. She decided that day she wanted to live and work in the town with the “big TV.”

Lisa does teller and personal banker work and enjoys that no two days are ever the same. She enjoys getting to know Minnesota National Bank customers personally and professionally. Lisa truly believes in treating people the way she wants to be treated and is quick to use humor and friendliness in all situations.

Lisa enjoys staying involved in activities that her four children are involved in. She volunteers with Sauk Centre Youth Hockey, Punkins & Monkey Preschool and the Parish Council. Her daughter is also a dancer which keeps her busy. In her free time Lisa loves spending time with family and friends, playing cards or games, gardening and traveling.

Lisa is truly a “kid at heart.” She has a daughter and a granddaughter 20 days apart! She feels like she is truly living the “Father of the Bride” movie!

Donald has worked at Minnesota National Bank for 33 years. In those years he has held a variety of positions including: lending, operations, information systems, insurance and investments. He feels fortunate that he has been able to work with many great teammates and customers.

His favorite part about working in a small town community bank is the impact he has seen in our customer’s success and financial peace. He really values Minnesota National Bank’s involvement in the community, and greatly appreciates the extra effort the team puts in to serve and position our customers to win with their money. Donald has enjoyed being involved in many local organizations throughout the years. He has made many great friendships and truly believes in the words of Winston Churchill, “you make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give.”

In her free time, Judy loves spending time with her grandkids. Unlike many Minnesotans, she loves all four seasons. In the winter she can’t wait to bundle up and sled with her grandkids and she loves fishing in the summer. Judy also loves just getting in the car and “road tripping” anywhere!

Meet Sarah Nelson – Compliance/Audit Officer

Sarah previously worked at a community bank in Pequot Lakes and has been in the industry for 9 years. Living, working and raising a family in a small community is very important to Sarah. Being new to the area she is eager to get involved in local organizations and communities. Her and her husband look forward to creating new relationships in Sauk Centre, as her husband is a local business owner.

In her free time Sarah enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and three children. She loves the lake life, spending the summertime outdoors, camping, boating, reading and doing yoga.

Meet Andrew Sorum – Investment Banker

Andrew Sorum Minnesota National BankPelican Rapids Investment Executive Andrew Sorum is a new employee to Minnesota National Bank. He is a recent graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead and grew up in Pelican Rapids. Andrew enjoyed growing up in a small town and is glad to be back to Pelican Rapids with all the familiar faces.

Andrew believes it’s very important to always provide the most accurate and up-to-date advice to all customers. He finds Minnesota National Bank has a great environment for customers. In his free time, Andrew loves watching and playing sports. He also is an avid hunter. As Andrew finishes his training and licensure process he looks forward to getting involved in local organizations. He has seen the positive impact these organizations can have on the community.

Meet Allan Ulbricht – Senior Business Lender/Senior Vice President

Allan Ulbricht Minnesota National Bank and Long Prairie Lion's ClubSenior Vice President and Senior Business Lender Allan Ulbricht recently celebrated his 30th year as a lender in Central Minnesota, and he has worked at Minnesota National Bank for almost 15 of those years. Growing up on a family farm in Southwestern Minnesota, Allan is very knowledgeable in the agricultural field. He also works closely with Minnesota National Bank business clients.

Allan grew up and has always lived in a small town. He believes in working hard to build up local communities. When the community is strong, so is the bank. He believes in the importance of community banks supporting customers and addressing the needs of the communities they serve. To him, Minnesota National displays this quality well.  Allan also works to give 110% to every person he works with.  

Allan truly believes in paying it forward. For him, volunteering in the local community is the best way he can give back. He is actively involved in the Long Prairie Lions (see photo above where Allan assists in the donation of eyeglasses for the Long Prairie Lion’s Club), Long Prairie EDA, Sauk Centre and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle FFA Alumni and is a Sunday School Teacher at his church. He says the more he puts into each group, the more he feels he gets out of it. He learns the most when he is involved.

In what little free time he has, Allan enjoys watching sports and spending time with his family and friends.

Meet Allison Norgren – Teller and Sales/Marketing

Allison Norgren and Family Minnesota National BankSauk Centre Teller and Sales/Marketing assistant Allison Norgren loves working, raising a family and living in her hometown of Sauk Centre. In her first year at Minnesota National Bank she has appreciated growing relationships with customers and meeting new customers. Working for a small town community bank is very important to her, because she believes in the importance of shopping local and banking local. Allison also enjoys the extra attention her and her coworkers are able to give customers. She enjoys both of her roles at Minnesota National Bank, working as a teller and assisting with the Sales and Marketing.

Allison graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Journalism and Communication, and a minor in Catholic Studies. She enjoyed the opportunity to study abroad in Rome for a semester during her college career. Allison worked for a few years in the cities and is now happy to be living and working in her hometown of Sauk Centre.

Allison is involved in the local Catholic youth group. In her free time she enjoys running, traveling, reading, camping, SUMMER fishing and spending time with her husband and 7 month old son. She especially enjoys spending time at her parent’s cabin in the summer. A fun fact about Allison is the Fourth of July is her favorite holiday, especially to be on the lake! Basically, if it’s summer, Allison is happy!

Meet Lynette Smischny – Loan Support and Teller

Lynette Smischny Pelican Rapids Minnesota National BankPelican Rapids Loan Support and Teller Lynette Smichny has been working in the banking industry for 38 years. She started in Denver and has been working in Pelican Rapids since she moved there in 1995.

Lynette values the relationships she has and continues to foster with customers in Pelican Rapids and surrounding towns. She believes the customer always comes first so she tries to do whatever she can to serve Minnesota National Bank customers. She appreciates the fact that Minnesota National Bank decisions are made locally by people that live in the community.

Lynette stays busy in her free time as the treasurer for her church. She also enjoys doing activities with her 15 year old daughter, reading and cross stitching. A fun fact about Lynette is she enjoys traveling to Fargo for the Force hockey games.

Meet Audrey Roering – Vice-President Human Resources/Deposit Manager

Audrey has worked at Minnesota National Bank since 1981, and has held a variety of positions including: Customer Service Representative, Marketing Officer, Head Bookkeeper and Consumer Loan Officer, to name a few. Audrey loves working at a small town bank, because she feels she can get to know customers and this helps her to serve them better.

Audrey is involved in a variety of local organizations. She is the bank’s representative on the Chamber of Commerce board, serving as the secretary. She enjoys promoting Sauk Centre through this organization. Audrey also serves on her church’s parish council and is the chair of the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. Audrey Roering Minnesota National BankShe has served on the board since 1998. She enjoys this, especially, because she knows she is making a difference in the fight against cancer.

In her free time, Audrey loves winter and summer fishing. She also loves to play cards, travel to Branson, MO and spend time with her grandchildren. A fun fact about Audrey is Harmon Killebrew was her hero, as a child. She also was born on Christmas Day!
